Opting out: How to do it? And why?
No matter where you are you have probably heard all the hype by now of the historic laws passed by Nevada, USA to legalize online gambling. There are so many things that are happening as a result. While this is fortunate for the industry, it is not so fortunate for some states who oppose gambling all together.
Other states are feverishly working on passing the same laws or similar ones and at the federal level there are bills being looked at to pass online casino legislation for the entire country. Even though this seems to be a big win for the industry not everyone is happy. What they say makes a lot of sense because the new legislation will open doors for other types of casinos as well. Some states will opt out and find other methods of bringing in additional income.
The real question here is why now? Why is it that the need to legalize online poker and other casino games even exists? We know for sure that this is not being done to promote gambling, nor is it being done to offer folks an alternative form of entertainment. The answer is quite simple. It is because the economic policies of the American federal government have essentially failed. Focusing on taxes and too many regulations brought on by special interest groups has stifled business growth.
States and federal governments need to get their income from somewhere. It is only natural after all of the failed policies and the incessant feet on the throats of businesses that online gambling would be just one answer for bringing in revenue that is already being spent in other countries.
Of course there are many people who will argue that the policies and regulations are to protect people but there is no protecting going on when businesses close or cannot open; and then you have the people who have lost jobs over all of this. When you put all of these things together it is easy to see why online gambling all across the United States is a distinct possibility that may come about very soon.
